Below is a sample of a tour we recently complete for the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay Volleyball.

The itinerary below is subject to change.

AIST Sicily and Amalfi Coast Tour - Sample Itinerary

Day 1 –

Departure from the USA

• Depart from the United States on your overnight international flight to Sicily

• Due to the time difference, arrival will be the following morning

Day 2 –

Arrival in Catania (Sicily) Meeting with your bilingual tour managers at the airport who will remain with you all the tour. Once on board the bus, departure to Taormina. Lunch on own and around 3.00 pm walking guided visit of Taormina with a professional local tour guide. Finally, transfer to your selected hotel Delta Hotels Giardini Naxos ****, in Giardini Naxos area, at only 5 miles from Taormina. Hotel check-in, dinner around 7:00 pm and overnight.

Day 3 –

Breakfast at hotel and leisure time: possibility to relax at the local seaside. Around 11:15 am departure to a local farm and winery production to enjoy a wine & food tasting. Arrival at the farm around 01.00 p.m. and enjoy the wine and food experience. Time at leisure in the afternoon. At designed time transfer to a local sport center in Catania or surroundings to play friendly match #1. At 4:00 pm (TBC) Green Bay Wisconsin vs. Volley Valley Catania. Dinner on your own. Final transfer to the hotel and overnight.

Day 4 –

Breakfast at hotel, check-out and early departure at 07:00 am to Agrigento. (approx. 4 hrs bus driving) In the late morning around 11.00 a.m. enjoy a 2 hours amazing, guided tour of Valley of the Temples. At the end, at around 01:15 pm transfer to Holiday Park restaurant in San Leone, by the seaside to have lunch all together. In the afternoon around 2.30 p.m. departure to Sciacca where you will arrive around 04:00pm and have a guided visit of the city and, if you desire, you can taste the famous “Granita Siciliana” in one of the local bar. Around 5:00/ 5:30 pm transfer to your selected hotel. Stop on the way to have dinner on your own. Check-in at hotel.

Day 5 –

Breakfast at the hotel. At 8:45 am departure to Palermo. At 10:00 am enjoy a guided visit of Palermo with a professional local tour guide including Norman Palace. Lunch on own. Free time to enjoy the city on your own. At about 6:00/ 6:30 pm transfer to a sport center in Palermo area. Dinner on your own. Return to hotel and overnight.

Day 6 –

Breakfast at the hotel. At 8:30 am departure to Erice for a guided visit of the city with a professional local tour guide at 11:00 am or the option to enjoy a free day at the resort hotel. Lunch on own. In the afternoon free time to enjoy the resort or a local beach. Dinner on your own. Final transfer to the hotel and overnight.

Day 7 –

Box breakfast and hotel check-out. At 4:00 am departure to Palermo airport in time to catch your easyjet#4102 flight to Napoli leaving at 08:35 am. Say goodbye to Sicily! Your tour managers will remain with you. Once arrived in Naples at 9:35 am, transfer to Naples for some leisure time and lunch on your own. At about 2:00 pm departure for a visit to the Vesuvius volcano. Enjoy a pleasant excursion and hike up to Vesuvius volcano with a local experienced tour guide from 3:30 pm (25 pax) | 4:00 pm (25 pax) | 4:10 pm (11 pax). At the end, continue to Sorrento, to check-in.

Day 8 –

Breakfast and hotel and full day excursion to Amalfi coast. Today morning you will get Sorrento port by local minibus. Meet the local guides. At 10:30 am get on board the public ferry from Sorrento to Positano for the first stop (SORRENTO - POSITANO 50-MINUTE CROSSING). Guided visit of Positano and time for lunch. At 1:35 pm departure from Positano to Amalfi (FROM POSITANO TO AMALFI 30-MINUTE CROSSING). Guided visit of Amalfi on arrival. Finally, return to Sorrento at 4:45 pm (SORRENTO 1 HOUR AND 20 MINUTE CROSSING). Once in Sorrento, return to your hotel by minibuses, time to freshen up before transferring to a local restaurant (Moonlight) at about 10 minutes-walk from hotel for a pleasant group dinner at 8:00 pm. Overnight at hotel.

Day 9 –

Breakfast at the hotel and check-out. At about 9:00 am departure to Pompeii. At 10:30 am guided visit of Pompeii with a local tour guides. At the end, lunch on your own. Around 1.30 / 2.00 p.m. continue to Rome area. On arrival, at 7:30 pm, transfer to a local sport center to play friendly game #3 in the Rome area. Dinner will be on your own today. At the end final transfer to your selected Hotel Isola Sacra **** in Fiumicino airport area and overnight.

Day 10 –

Get a box breakfast at your hotel and check-out. Transfer to the airport in time to catch your return flight. Arrivederci Italia!
